If I were to sum up TheRAY in a single term, it would be ‘poise’. With good soundstaging and excellent top-to-bottom coherence, the cable is perfectly balanced and especially good with well-recorded music. However, where TheRAY shines is in not masking lesser tracks. Put on something harsh and angular, and TheRAY won’t smooth over the edginess or forwardness of the recording. BLOOD BROTHERHOOD

The experience gained during work on the top TheRed series was used in the design process of the TheRay Interconnect Cable. Many materials and solutions were also taken over from the TheRed series! Courtesy Roger Adamek, the prototypes were tested in his RCM audio salon in Katowice on systems composed of C.E.C, TechDas, Vitus Audio, Thrax, Gauder Akustik and Kuzma devices. The possibility of cable design in the environment of the Ultra High-End systems resulted in the creation of a cable with a very even transparent characteristics that is able to transfer the signal between the highest class devices.

Witek Kamiński did a VERY, REALLY VERY good job with this cable. Its sound is open and resonant as well as "safe" because of it's control. The bass extends very low and is multi-colored, evolving over time. The foreground is behind the line connecting the speakers, but the others extend farther back. This creates the sound tonally deep on the one hand, and structured and natural on the other. I focused primarily on the density and resolution of the sound. These two elements, when combined in similar proportions, create the kind of non-mechanical sound we call "organic." It's a simply beautiful sound*.

FROM INSPIRATIONS TO REALIZATION

Design is a process of transforming multiple influences in the designer's mind, which determinates the final result. As an architect, I always look at my surroundings analytically. I see the code that, in many cases, has been used to achieve a specific result, both aesthetically and technically.

The drawings helps better to understand the form and the light which is cutting the shapes. No matter if it's the building or a aluminum "brick" for the cable...! This is the most important difference between hand-drawing and the computer-designing- capturing the light!

When the design is ready for the next step we start creating the  first prototypes on CNC cutting machines. This is the right time to discuss whether they meet our expectations. At this stage, we also begin cable auditions, which demonstrate whether the design assumptions have proven effective in practice.

Yet, as I see it, it delivers more than expected at this price point, and there seems to be a synergy with its speaker cable sibling. It offers a very good (even if not ultimate) resolution, excellent PRAT, the bass goes deep, is rich and colorful, and yet it is tight enough for any music. The treble, while it may seem on a bit calmer side, is very open, vivid, and can get a bit bright and piercing when needed (like for brass instruments, for example). Importantly, both band’s extremes support the natural, slightly warm, rich, detailed midrange, ultimately delivering an engaging, very musical performance for those who look for a live-like, spatial, immersive experience. That’s a cable for long, joyful listening sessions, rather than making a huge first impression within a few minutes. It is a classy, refined performer that in many systems will be the only one you need*. Marek Dyba

HANDCRAFTED ORIGINAL DESIGN

The TheRay Interconnect Cable, just like the cables from the top TheRed line, is an absolutely original design, built 100% by hand, using only original solutions and materials. Great emphasis was placed on selecting the optimal cable geometry and special vibration damping materials, matching them to the materials used as conductors. The signal was conducted using pure silver. Silver-plated copper and very high-purity copper were also used to build the cable. This original mixture allows for maximum use of the sound potential of silver, while eliminating the typical symptoms of this material, such as sharpness of the sound, its brightening and "thinning". The end result is a neutral sounding cable with very high resolution, dynamics and vitality*.

TheRay XLR release the dormant power and distribution potential of the electronics connected to them and solidly "oxygenate" the scene.
